Reviewer's note: This is undoubtedly the worst episode in the
entire series, and it's a shame that it had to be this close to the beginning.
Any beginner Lamune fan who happens to see this as one of the first episodes
is likely to be running for the hills before it's over. Having this episode
so up front gives the notion that the rest of the series is going to be
this choppy and poorly animated. Fortunatly, it's not.
The episode begins with Lamune and company flying to thier next location.
Even at the very beginning you can see that the animation quality has dropped
to such a level that it would make the Evangelion animator's team jealous.
In fact, the characters are so poorely drawn, that in comparison "Rocky
and Bullwinkle" looks like an animation masterpeice. It's sad to see that
the stock footage is the only bright spot of the episode. God, it never
stops. It's so horrid, they can't even draw the porportionate body parts.
Cocoa's face is 1/2 the size it should be.
Let me make this short -- Lamune, Cocoa and Milk fly to this place and
fight these three whacko anthropormorphic dorks. The bad guys have this
fan that makes all the people laugh till they vomit, then Scassher appears,
defeats the Monskar, etc.
I just can't get over how poorly this is drawn and animated. A drunk third
grader can animate and draw better than this. If you're intent on seeing
the Lamune TV series I recommend avoiding even seeing this episode. I mean,
Hanna Barbera's 1960 cartoon strips are gourmet classics compared to this
crap. You'll see a higher frame rate of animation by watching the ceiling.
Whatever these animators are smoking must be ten times as lethal as what
killed John Belushi. Yes, it's that horrible.
